Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Abigail celebrated her first birthday this past weekend. I can hardly believe that she is a year old. We celebrated with a party of 30+ friends and family and plenty of kids running around. This post may sound more like something that should be in a baby book but since her baby book is packed somewhere in storage I want to record her milestones and likes and dislikes here.

getting settled

Well we are officially done moving, Yay! Now for the unpacking. We have unpacked all the essential stuff but Mom's house is so small it is taking quite a bit of work to make everything fit. You have to be pretty inventive to find a place to put everything and make it look good. I really hope to be done by this weekend. I hate looking at boxes and having everything out of place. It really stresses me out. After we get all that done it is back to painting and fixing up the rest of the house. We still have the living room, hall, bathroom, kitchen and dining room. Sigh. We still don't have internet so I am posting this from work. And still I won't be able to upload any pictures any time soon. A blog is pretty boring with no pictures but it will have to do.

Good news is that I found a job that is like 15min away from the house. I am a nanny for twin, newborn girls and I get to bring Abby with me. This is my first week and so far so good. We have had a couple of times where all babies were crying but we made it through. The tough part about this job is that I have to be here at 6:30am. It is really hard to drag my self out of bed at 5:30am, but at least it is close and there is no such thing as traffic. Also Bob just landed an interview with TCC. This looks to be very promising since he worked for TCC for 7 years prior to going to work for Boardroom. He knows a lot of contacts there that can put in a good word for him. Down side is now we live in Dallas practically but the commute shouldn't be too bad since he will be going against traffic. It defiantly won't be near as bad as driving from Keller to Plano.

Abigail is now a walking fool. She loves to chase you and be chased. She would spend her whole day outside if I let her. She is the best eater. Haven't found anything she doesn't like besides peas. She is also so happy to have her crib back. She just doesn't sleep that well in the pack n' play. She will give you kisses if you ask for them and sometime she slips you the tongue right as you go in to kiss her. Then she laughs like she has played the funniest joke ever. She is becoming a Mama's girl, big time. She only wants me most of the time but Bob does a great job of distracting her when needed. I really can't believe that she will be 10 months old in just a couple of days. Where has the time gone?

Where have we been?

Well the last two weeks seem like a whirl wind. We packed, moved our stuff to storage, moved ourselves to a friend's house, and started renovating my Mom's house so that we can move in with her.

Packing and moving were the pits. I know they are always the pits but really this just sucked. We rented a trailer that was suppose to hold a 2-3 bedroom house worth of stuff (according to their website and the guy at U-haul). We also rented a storage unit that was suppose to hold a 2-3 bedroom house. Also we were suppose to be done moving by 3pm that day. Well when we went to go pick up the trailer we thought it looked kinda small the the guy assured me everything would fit. When we got to the house to start loading I was sure it would not all fit and we would be making two trips. I was really trying to avoid that because the drive from Keller to Red Oak is over an hour. If I had known I would have just paid the extra money and rented a big truck to make one trip. So we load up as much as we can and drive to the storage unit. Um, there is no way all of our stuff will fit in the one storage unit! So we have to rent another one. Sigh. So we finally were done moving at 11pm at night. The baby was very tired and cranky, Bob and I were also tired and cranky and we still had to go back the next day and move the fish tank to my brother's house and clean the house. Well lets say that I am glad that is over!

We are currently staying with very good friends while we fix up my mom's house and make it baby ready. We are enjoying our time here and Abigail loves their daughter Kira. She wants to do everything with her. Mom's house is coming along. She had new carpet installed this week and we will finish painting the bedrooms this weekend. Then all we have left is painting the hall and bathroom, all the trim in the house, and installing vinyl flooring. Man I'm already tired just typing that out.

Bob has had a lot of interviews and is getting a lot of hits on his resume but no job yet. We are praying that it happens soon. I have a job prospect and I feel very positive about it. I will know more next week. In the mean time thank goodness for tax refunds and small children. :)

I promise to get some pictures uploaded soon. Got to find the cables that go to the camera. Got to love moving and losing everything.

Guess Who's Walking

Well since there is only one of us in the house that can't walk yet you have probably already guessed that it is Abigail. Yes I know she is only eight months old but she just couldn't be held back anymore. I tried to tell her that is was not necessary for her to walk yet but she just keeps practicing. I finally captured it on video. She gets so excited that she falls over. And please excuse the crazy dog in the video, Canela can't stand not being the center of attention.

Moving

Saturday is moving day. We are moving in with my Mom. She will be able to pay all the major bills so that we can continue to save and pay off debt. I am so thankful that my Mom is able to do this. It will be interesting living with 3 adults, 1 baby, 5 dogs, and 1 cat in a 1000sq foot, 2 bedroom house. We found a storage facility to store our extra stuff in for $35 a month and we are renting a uhaul trailer for $74. Bob's dad is helping us out with the moving expenses. We are so thankful to have such a supporting family, here's to a debt free 2010!

Well I haven't posted this yet because we have been processing it all. Bob lost his job on Friday. This is the straw that broke the camel's back. After being on maternity leave, then losing my job in Oct. then getting it back part time we have been living paycheck to paycheck. Now, with out Bob's job and his income we will have to move out of our house. We can't afford the rent and really need to save and pay off credit cards and student loans. This requires us to live with somebody in my family. Who I don't know. It is so hard on both parties to live with somebody. I love my family and am grateful that they are offering for us to live with them but well it is just so hard. I like living here with my husband, daughter, cat, and dogs. *sigh* Putting my trust in God that he will open a window.

Well my poor baby has Croup. She woke up Sunday with a barking cough and just all around feeling crummy. Any time she cried or coughed she sounded like a seal. :( We spent the day inside taking naps and putting up Christmas lights outside. Today she is on the mends. Thankfully she didn't get it too bad and her Pedi says we are doing all the right things and just to keep it up. *Sigh* I hate seeing my baby sick.

Our Thanksgiving Week

Well I know this is a week late but I wanted to tell you about Abigail's 1st Thanksgiving. I had the whole week off and it was a busy one. Monday we went and played with Kira and Sarah. Abigail had a great time eating trains, playing with her cool new toy Kira passed down to her, and over all just being cute. Sarah took some really good pictures of her also.

Tuesday we went up to work for the Thanksgiving feast. Can't pass up good food. Haha. Of course Abby enjoyed being the center of attention since Ridley was at home with his mama.

Wednesday was a very busy day. I really needed to get the house cleaned. Nobody was really coming over to the house but it desperately needed to be done and I can't seem to get it done with 2 babies here. So Abigail went to play with her Great-aunt Patty while Mommy furiously cleaned. She was gone for 3hrs and she took a 2hr nap at home and still the house was not totally done but mostly. Ah, what can you do?

Thursday, Turkey Day. Grammy came over early to start cooking her potatoes and to help me cook green bean casserole, yummy. Thankfully Abigail napped while we cooked and she woke up just in time to head over to Jessica & Cliff's house to chow down. Even Abby got a little taste of Thanksgiving. She had mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and of course her mommy's green bean casserole. She loved all of it! After stuffing our faces with all the wonderful food most parked themselves in front of the TV to watch the football game. Bob, Abby, and I went out and jumped on the trampoline (not the best idea after eating a ton of food) but it was fun. After the feast Grammy went with us to Wal-mart to do a little Christmas shopping. She found Abby a singing raindeer stocking and a singing Santa. Abby adores both, mommy could do with out them but it makes her laugh so they are here to stay. Grammy spent the night, Abby didn't want to go to sleep because she might miss something, and we watched a movie, "The Happening." Weird movie.

Friday Abby woke us up bright and early at 7am. Thankfully Daddy played with her for an hour so I could get a little more sleep, I love that Daddy. Once every one was up and running Grammy and I went and did a little more Christmas shopping and Daddy babysat. After hitting the stores we were off to Nana Ringo's house for our 2nd feast.

Saturday we went over to the other Grandparents house and Abby got to spend some good quality time with her El Paso Grandma. She doesn't come into town often enough so it was good to visit. Then it was off to Emma Francis' 5th birthday party. I really can't believe she is already 5! Oh yeah, we also put up our Christmas tree.

Sunday we did some Christmas shopping for the Grandparents and went and had dinner with Bob's parents. Abigail got to check out the tree and promptly crawled under it. Silly baby girl!

Phew, that was a busy week!

6 months old!

Wow I just can't believe that it is her half birthday already! We went for her check up today and she is 20lbs and 28"long. She only gained 6-7ozs since her 4 month check up but she grew 2in. She is such a big girl. They wanted to give her 7 vaccines today but mama said no way and we settled for one oral and one shot. Why on earth do they think it is ok to give 7 vaccines at one time?! OUCH! That is just not right for a little baby. She will be going back every 4 weeks to get another shot till she is up to date. I'm so glad though that I don't have to fight her doctor, he totally agrees but has to offer what the AAP guidelines say. Some Pedi's just won't have it any other way. We love Dr. Hopkins, thanks to Becka for the recommendation.

Bob went with us to the doctor's office and thank goodness. I took Ridley with me and he was hungry and Abigail really just wanted her mama. She is quickly becoming a mama's girl. Last night I snuck out of the house to go to Wal-mart by myself and from Bob's account she cried most of the time I was gone and was looking for me. :( I'm glad that she loves me so much but it hurt daddy's feelings and I don't like leaving her when I know she will be upset. But mama needs some alone time. What to do, what to do?

Since she has now mastered the crawling and pulling up she is on to cruising. She is trying to walk along all of the furniture and we are quickly finding out what else we need to baby proof in the house.

In other news, we can now walk from laundry room into the garage. That might not seem so exciting to you but to me it is the greatest news ever! Since we moved into this house back in January we have had to walk around to the front door to get into the house instead of going through the garage. Why? you ask. Well my wonderful washer and dryer are too big for the tiny laundry room and we couldn't open the door to the garage because the dryer was in the way. Well yesterday we finally got around to stacking them up on one another and tah-dah we can open the door! I was asking my self yesterday why we haven't done this yet and was thinking we need another person to help us. Then I remembered, I'm not pregnant anymore. I can help Bob stack the dryer. Haha. Yes I know she is 6 months old but I just came to this realization.

She also now has 5 teeth and working on number 6. At this rate she will be walking by Christmas. haha, no really I hope not.

On Tuesday I took Abigail and Ridley to vote. It was a great time. People looked at me like I was crazy for bring two babies to the polls and even more crazy when Ridley started crying WHILE I was voting. I was swinging him in his car seat with one hand, rocking Abby with my foot in her seat and voting all at the same time. Talk about multi-tasking! Anyhow I got a good picture for the record book.
